The joy of Sharing
A heart touching incident happened at our school, a 6 year old from first grade stopped bringing his lunch. Each day he will go out, look around, drink some water and come back for his classes. His teacher observed and went to ask him why?
This sweet little boy shared his agony, “my mom only makes rice these days & I don't like rice I asked her to make roti but my mom told me that we don’t have money to buy the wheat flour, we can only afford rice.” So this adamant child stopped bringing his lunch.
Listening to his story, this teacher decided to do something. First, she asked other students to share some of their meal with this kid. Secondly, she suggested that if all the teachers can contribute to donate a sack of wheat flour to help her mother in this situation.
Few days later, this kid brought his lunch. Seeing that his teacher felt very happy but later something happened which amazed her. This young 6 years old, saw his lunch & started yelling at top of his voice to everyone. My mom has given me ROTI today, I want to share it with you all, like how you shared it with me.
Come let’s eat it together! Come let's eat it together!
